Father's Day ((Continued))

The next one on the list led us to a parking lot and said it was close by. I had a good feeling about this one but it wasn't the easiest to get to. Dad and I walked up a rocky slope until we reached the top of the hill. Luckily it was far enough out that nobody could spot us. There were forest trees all around and rocks everywhere. I looked back at my GPS and it kept taking us in circles. We lifted up numerous rocks and plants but got nothing. That's when we spotted a gold coin laying on the ground. Another cache'r must had dropped it and we knew the cache had to be nearby. It was just the motivation we needed because we probably would have left had we not found that coin. We notices the coin was about 20 feet away from a large tree stump. It had to be in there. Finally after snooping around the tree for a while I pushed away a piece of bark that was in a crevice next to it and there it was. A pill bottle with a gold coin glued to the  lid. Both dad and I lit up when we saw it and inside was some old coins  from other countries and a log book. When I signed the log I saw that someone had been there the same day. It's cool to see what people have written and when they were last there. I took a Kenya coin that was intriguing and left the coin we found on the ground and a blue car that just barely fit inside the bottle. Next time I'll remember to bring a coin (oops) but I'm sure the next person laughed at the plastic toy wedged inside. I stuck the Kenya coin in my bag and off we were to the next.
Before Cache #3 of the day we all went for a Baskin-Robbins ice-cream that was delicious. They have the absolute best rainbow sherbet I've ever had and it's what I've gotten since I was a kid. Nothing else compares to it, it's just...amazing.
So anyway, the next one we went to said it was by the campus police station which seemed odd at first. I didn't want to look suspicious walking around police ground but in the note I printed out said it was far enough away from even the fence. I figured we could always drive away but as we parked I noticed it was leading us more towards a wooded area again. I was more used to the GPS now but this one was still pretty tricky. If you read exactly what he wrote for hints you could figure it out but it took me a few minutes before it clicked in my head like a puzzle. Where it was hidden was a great hiding spot and very creative. It was harder not to be seen but I can only hope I did my best when placing it back. The box was smaller than what the website said but it needed to be for where it was hidden. When I opened it there was only one item inside, a pin. This seemed strange but I still logged my visit in their little book and left something smaller since the car was far too big to fit. (Note to self, Bring small things as well.)
I googled what was written on the pin and found out that it's a Canadian Agricultural cooperative headquartered in Longueuil, Quebec, Canada. Pretty cool right?

After that I didn't have much luck with the other two. The fourth was by a movie theater but there were way too many people around to even look for it and the fifth was in a strange location. #5 was in a hotel parking lot right near one of the hotel windows somewhere. I felt like a creeper and I didn't like these kind of cache's that were by buildings or public areas. I liked the ones off into the trees where no one could see you and you could take your time. It was about time to head back home anyway so we got back in the car and started our long ride back. I was very satisfied with my findings as I turned on my music and looked at all the stars from the side window. Nothing says Father's Day like some crappy beer and some treasure hunting :-) It made for fun day.
